[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 유동 인구가 많은 지행역3번 출구에 스마트 버스승강장 '더위 및 추위대피소'를 설치하여 운영한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 설치한 스마트 버스승강장은 폭염이 심한 여름철과 한파가 매서운 겨울철에 시민들의 편의를 크게 증진시킬 것으로 예상되며, 시민들의 편리한 일상에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 보인다.

신설된 스마트 버스승강장은 버스 운행상황을 실시간으로 알려주는 버스 안내단말기를 비롯해 공기청정기, 냉·난방시스템, 홍보영상디스플레이 등 각종 편의시설이 구비되어 있다. 

시는 1개월간의 시범운영을 거쳐 개선사항을 분석·보완함으로써 스마트 버스승강장을 시민들을 위한 쉼터 공간으로 안착시킬 계획이다.

시 관계자는 “스마트 버스승강장은 대중교통을 이용하는 시민들이 혹서기·혹한기·미세먼지로부터 건강을 지킬 수 있는 최첨단 스마트 시스템이다”라며 “앞으로도 시민들의 교통편의가 향상될 수 있도록 관리 및 기능 향상에 지속적인 관심과 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
