[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시는 지난 7월 14일, 기초생활수급자의 방문요양서비스를 지원하는 관내 요양보호사를 대상으로 의료급여제도에 대한 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날 교육은 거동이 불편하거나 일상생활에 타인의 도움이 필요한 장기요양 인정 등급을 받은 기초생활수급자를 지원하는 요양보호사들이 평소 의료급여 제도에 대해 인지함으로써, 의료급여 수급자들의 의료지식 부재로 인한 부적정 의료 이용 및 약물 오·남용을 방지하고 의료급여의 합리적 이용으로 개인의 건강증진과 삶의 질 향상을 위해 이루어졌다.

시는 현재 간호사로 구성된 의료급여관리사 5명이 근무하며 의료급여 수급 대상자별 맞춤형 상담으로 적정 의료 이용과 매년 증가하는 의료급여비용의 안정적 관리에 만전을 기하고 있다.

또한, 저출산·고령화 사회로 인해 매년 지속적으로 증가하는 수급자 수에 대비해 의료급여 이용을 안정적으로 돕고 탈시설화 및 지역사회 내 커뮤니티 케어 확대에 따라 요양보호사들의 의료급여 제도에 대한 지식이 요구되고 있다.

고현숙 복지정책과장은 “이번 관내 요양보호사를 대상으로 한 의료급여제도 교육이 장기요양 서비스를 제공 받는 수급자들에게 건강 유지증진과 요양보호사 개인의 업무 역량을 강화하는데 큰 도움이 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
