[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 지난 18일, 제8기 양주시 예산참여시민위원회 예산학교와 위촉식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

제8기 양주시 예산참여시민위원회를 이끌어갈 임원으로 신희원 위원장, 황영학 부위원장이 각각 선출됐다.

특히, 지난 기수와 다르게 위촉식에 앞서 제8기 공개모집 선발 위원을 대상으로 양주시 예산참여시민위원회 예산교육을 실시한 뒤 공개 추첨 방식으로 예산참여시민위원을 최종 선정하며 위원들의 전문성과 다양성을 한층 더 끌어올렸다는 평가이다.

제8기 양주시 예산참여시민위원회는 향후 2년간 양주시 예산운영에 대한 주민의견 수렴, 예산절감을 위한 연구활동, 주민참여예산 제안사업 적정성 검토, 사업 우선순위 심의 등의 활동을 수행하며 주민들이 필요로 하는 사업이 예산에 편성될 수 있도록 조언자 역할을 담당하게 된다.
