[김준호 기자=동해시] 동해시가 상수관망 블록화, ICT 기술을 접목 등 상수도  시설 개선을 위한 현대화 사업이 차질없이 진행되고 있어 내년에  완료할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

상수도 현대화사업은 총 384억 여원을 투입하여 관내 급수지역 및 정수장 시설 등에 노후 상수관로 정비(35.4km), 상수관망 블록화(8개소), 스마트 관망관리 시스템 구축, 디지털 계량기(2,220개소)를 교체한다. 

특히, 현대화사업 추진시 구축되는 블록 및 유지관리시스템은 유수율 향상에 기여하게 되며, 정통신기술(ICT)이 접목되는 스마트 관망관리 인프라 구축사업을 통해 향후 수돗물 공급 전과정을 실시간을 감시 할 수 있고 수질사고시 신속한 대응이 가능하다.

또, 여과시설 내 유충이나 이물질 발생 억제를 위한 정수장 소형생물 대응체계 구축사업에 3억여원을 투입해 정수처리공정 및 정·배수지 8개소를 대상으로 마이크로 필터를 설치 후 유충 발생여부를 지속적으로 모니터링하는 등 정수장 위생관리에도 만전을 기할 방침이다.

시는 현재까지 1,150개소의 아날로그 계량기를 디지털계량기로 교체 하고, 202개소의 누수탐사 및 복구를 진행하였으며, 이원 배수지 급수 구역 3개소에 소블록 구축을 완료했다.

올해 관내 소블록 17개소 및 유지관리시스템을 구축하고, 내년까지  1,000개소의 노후된 기계식 계량기를 디지털 계량기를 추가 교체와  함께 200개소에 대한 누수탐사 및 복구도 병행 진행할 예정이다.

심규언 시장은 “상수도 현대화사업을 유수율을 향상시키고, 생산원가를 절감하는 등 체계적인 수질관리 시스템을 구축하여 안전하고 깨끗한 상수도 기반 환경을 조성해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
