[김준호 기자 = 동해시] 동해시(심규언)는 삼척블루파워 화력발전소의 연료(유연탄)가 동해항에서 운반한다는 계획과 관련하여 인근지역 환경오염과 도로파손 등에 대한 특단의 대책마련에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

1,050MW급 2기가 설치되고 일일 17,000톤의 유연탄을 사용하게 되는삼척블루파워 화력발전소에서는 맹방항이 준공되는 2024년 4월까지 25톤덤프 34대가 6.5회 왕복으로 일일 220대 약 4,400톤을 동해항에서 삼척발전소로 운반하게 된다

이에따라, 시에서는 트럭운송에 따른 비산먼지 등 환경피해는 물론 교통량 증가로 인한 도로파손, 도로정체 등 불편이 예상됨에 따라 적정중량 이하 상차, 상부덮개 밀폐, 살수차 및 세륜시설 운영을 비롯해,  

엄격한 수송기준을 마련하고 엄중 이행토록 할 계획으로 미세먼지 감시단 밀착 감시체계로 환경오염을 미연에 예방한다는 방침이다.

김동운 환경과장은 “2월중 관련업체 및 유관기관과의 간담회를 통해 운송구간 진공청소차 운영 등 환경피해예방 및 도로파손 등에 대한 원인자 부담원칙을 세우고 긴밀한 협의를 통해 대책을 강구하여 지역주민의 생활불편이 없도록 적극적으로 대응해 나갈 계획”이라고 전했다.
