[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 김동연 경기도지사의 1호 지시인 ‘경기도 민생대책특별위원회’가 8월 1일 첫 회의를 열고 출범했다.

 

김 지사는 “경기도가 앞장서서 실효성 있는 대책을 마련해 민생경제 위기를 선도적으로 돌파하겠다”는 의지를 밝혔다.

 

‘민생대책특별위원회’는 최근 경기침체, 물가 상승, 금융 변동성 확대 등으로 위기에 봉착한 민생경제의 회복을 위해, 각계 구성원이 머리를 맞대 경기도 차원의 대책을 논의·발굴하고자 출범한 민관 정책협의체다.

 

민생대책 실효성 확보를 위해 민간위원의 참여를 대폭 확대, 당연직 7명 외에도 경제·금융, 물가, 사회복지, 부동산 등 분야별 전문가와 행정⸱정치⸱시민사회 대표인사(오피니언 리더) 총 28명을 위원으로 위촉했다.

 

위원회는 각계 전문가와 구성원의 의견을 수렴해 즉각적·중장기적 정책 방향을 제시하고, 기존 정책의 개선 과제 도출과 적재적소에 필요한 핀셋 정책을 마련하는 역할을 하게 된다.

 

이를 위해 경제·고용, 소상공인·기업, 생활물가, 취약·가계, 부동산 등 민생경제 현안에 대해 수시로 논의를 벌일 5개 분야별 대책반을 구성했다.

 

또, 경기연구원, 경기경제과학진흥원, 경기신용보증재단, 경기도시장상권진흥원, 경기도일자리재단, 경기복지재단, 한국은행, 농수산진흥원, 경기주택도시공사 등 경제 분야 공공기관도 대거 참여한다.

 

앞으로 위원회는 분기별 정기 회의를 열어 심도 있는 논의를 나누는 한편, 사안 발생 시 수시회의를 여는 등 현장 목소리가 생생하게 담긴 실효성 있는 장·단기 민생 안전 대응책을 마련하는 데 힘쓰게 된다. 

 

김 지사는 이날 1차 회의에서 공동위원장인 문우식 서울대 교수, 이원재 랩(LAB)2050 대표 등 위원들에게 위촉장을 수여하고, 경기도 경제 여건과 현황을 중심으로 민생대책을 심도 있게 논의했다.

 

김 지사는 “코로나 이전부터 경기침체가 왔고, 코로나라는 긴 터널이 끝나는가 했더니 최근 다시 확산하는 모양새”라며 “과거 어떤 위기보다도 더 어려운 상황이 올 수 있는 만큼, 경각심을 갖고 대처해야 할 때”라고 말하며 “경기도는 이번 민생대책특별위원회를 통해 전국에 어느 광역자치단체보다 선제적으로 대응하면서 대한민국을 선도할 수 있는 대책들을 마련하고, 강력하게 추진해 나갈 것”이라고 강조했다.
