[김준호 기자=동해시] 동해시는 제78회 식목일을 맞아 오는 25일 동해시웰빙레포츠타운에서 시민들을 대상으로 나무 나누어주기 행사를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

지난해 옥계발 대형산불 이후 올해 본격적인 산림복구가 실시되고 코로나19 여파로 4년만에 개최됨에따라 시민들의 많은 관심과 참여가 예상되고 있다.

시는 이번 행사에 영산홍 외 4종 6,000본과 삼척국유림관리소, 산림조합중앙회 동부목재유통본부와 삼척동해태백산림조합으로부터 지원 받은 매실나무 외 4종 3,500여본을 포함하여 총 9,500여주를 나누어 주게 된다.

심정교 녹지과장은“산불피해 이후 지난 1년간 산사태 예방 응급복구,긴급벌채, 복구조림사업 추진에 많은 어려움이 있었으나, 시민들께서 보내주신 많은 관심과 협조로 어려움을 극복할 수 있었다”며, “앞으로도 산림복구에 시민들의 많은 관심을 당부 드린다”고 밝혔다.
