[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 국제 원자재 가격 상승과 세계적 경기 침체가 우려되는 가운데에서도 동해항을 통한 상반기 수출액이 사상 최초로 4억 달러를 넘어서며 연간 최고 수출실적을 갱신할 것으로 기대하고 있다고 전했다.

동해시 북방물류산업진흥원에 따르면 올 상반기 동해항을 통한 수출액은 4억 2,399만 달러로 전년 동기 대비 82.6% 증가세를 기록했다.

같은 기간 우리나라 전체 수출은 15.1%, 강원도 수출은 15%로 동해항의 수출 증가세는 더욱 두드러지게 나타났다.

동해항의 연간 수출액 최고치는 2014년에 기록한 6억 6만 달러로 지금과 같은 추세가 지속될 경우, 올해 동해항 수출실적은 이를 훌쩍 뛰어넘을 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

상반기 동해항 수출을 품목별로 보면 해저케이블을 포함한 전선류가 1억 5,682만 달러를 기록, 전체의 37%를 차지해 효자 노릇을 톡톡히 했으며, 건설기계 및 승용차가 1억 627만 달러, 합금철이 8,955만 달러, 시멘트류가 3,490만 달러로 그 뒤를 이었는데, 상위 4개 제품군의 수출 비중이 전체 수출의 91%를 차지한 가운데 화장품, 세제, 담배 등 생활용품의 수출도 꾸준히 증가하고 있다.

국가별 수출액을 보면 건설기계와 승용차 수출이 많았던 러시아가 1억 1,167만 달러로 가장 많았고, 해저 케이블 수출이 많았던 대만이 1억 705만 달러로 두 번째, 미국, 네덜란드, 호주 등이 그 뒤를 이었다.

특히, 100만 달러 이상 수출실적을 기록한 국가가 17개국이나 될 정도로 수출대상 국가의 다변화도 눈에 띄는데 몽골, 카자흐스탄, 우즈베키스탄 등 중앙아시아 국가로의 수출 증가가 큰 역할을 한 것으로 보인다.
