[김준호 기자=동해시] 동해시가 생활밀착형 시범사업으로 추진하고 있는 복지서비스안 치매안심 행복버스운영 등이 시민들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 밝혔다.

치매안심 행복버스는 프로그램에 참여하는 치매 환자 및 가족들이 가정에서 치매안심센터까지 버스를 이용하여 안전하게 방문할 수 있도록 무료 왕복 이동 편의 서비스이다.

교통약자인 어르신들이 셔틀버스를 이용, 치매안심센터까지 이동하여 안전하게 프로그램에 참여할 수 있다는 점에서 치매 환자 가족들에게도 많은 인기를 얻고 있다.

쉼터 프로그램에 참여하신 어르신은 “다른 참여자들과 함께 버스를 타고 서로 이야기도 나누면서 올 수 있어 즐거워졌다”고 전했다.

시는, 다사오는 4월 3일부터 상반기 찾아가는 경로당 치매예방교실 "뇌 나이가 어때서"운영을 통해 두뇌인지강화 프로그램, 치매예방 근력운동 등 경로당 어르신을 대상으로 치매예방사업을 펼친다.

특히, 오는 2025년까지 사업비 82억여원을 투입해 부곡동 동해시노인요양원 부근에 치매전담 요양원을 신축하고, 동해이레복지센터 내에 있는 재가노인복지시설의 치매전담실 정원을 기존 50명에서 66명을 수용할 수 있도록 증축하는 등 생활밀착형 복지를 한층 강화해 나간다는 방침이다.

최식순 보건소장은 “치매환자와 가족들이 안전하게 프로그램을 이용하는 것은 물론, 치매 악화 방지와 가족의 돌봄 부담을 경감시킬 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.  

한편, 동해시치매안심센터는 3월부터 치매환자 쉼터(매주 화, 목),치매환자 가족교실(매주 수), 치매고위험군 인지강화교실(매주 금)을 운영하고 있다.
