[김준호 기자=삼척시] 삼척시는 전문농업경영인 양성을 위해 27일 오후 2시 농업기술센터에서 2023년 제16회 삼척농업인대학 입학식을 개최했다.

삼척농업인대학은 지난 2008년에 운영을 시작하여 지역 특화품목 중심의 전문 기술교육 운영으로 합리적인 농장경영 및 과학영농 실천능력을 갖춘 농업경영인을 양성하고 있다.

이번 입학식에는 입학생 51명과 농업 관련 기관·단체장 등이 참석하며, 입학식에 이어 농산물 직거래 유통마케팅을 주제로 그린하이테크 김대윤 대표의 특강이 진행됐다.

올해 삼척농업인대학은 사과심화과정 29명과 딸기과정 22명 등 2개 과정 51명을 대상으로 오는 11월까지 전문기술 이론 및 현장학습 교육 등 과정별로 17회 70시간 이상 운영할 계획이다. 

김백호 농업지원과장은 “농업인대학 운영을 통해 전문기술과 농업경영능력을 갖춘 우수 농업인을 양성하여 농가 소득 증대 및 지역농업 발전에 기여하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

한편, 2008년부터 지난해까지 삼척농업인대학을 통해 사과, 포도, 고추, 마늘, 양봉, 특용작물, 채소, 과수, 농산물 가공 등 과정에서 총 887명이 수료했다.
