[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시 호원2동은 지난 6월 27일 호원2동새마을지도자협의회에서 ‘2050 탄소중립실천 환경교육’ 행사를 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 EM 흙공은 황토에 유용한 미생물군을 배양한 효소 발효액과 발효촉진제 등을 섞어 반죽한 후 발효시킨 것으로 하천 바닥에 퇴적된 오염물질 제거를 통한 수질개선 용도로 사용하며, 특히 하수 유입으로 오염된 도심하천의 악취 제거에 효과적이라고 했다.
이날 만들어진 흙공은 2~3주 발효시킨 후 회룡천에 투하할 예정이다.
양정근 새마을지도자협의회장은 “우리가 만든 EM 흙공으로 회룡천이 깨끗하고 맑게 유지되어 우리 후손들에게도 자연 그대로 물려줄 수 있도록 생명살림 운동을 지속적으로 하겠다”고 말했다.
남봉준 호원2동 자치민원과장은 “우리동네 회룡천 살리기에 협조해주신 새마을지도자협의회에 감사드리며, 앞으로도 지역주민의 쾌적하고 살기 좋은 환경개선을 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
