[김준호 기자=동해시] 동해시(시장 심규언)가 숙박업소의 공정성 확보와 관광객 보호를 위해 불법 공유숙박에 대해 단속 강화에 나섰다.

이번 단속은 공유 숙박플랫폼을 이용하여 미신고 불법 영업을 하는 영업주를 대상으로 연중 진행되며, 시는 안전사고의 우려가 큰 단독주택을 위주로 단속을 시작하여 3곳을 적발했다.

시는 지난해 9월경 공유 숙박플랫폼 모니터링 중 숙박업 신고를 하지 않고 총 3곳에서 불법영업을 하는 A씨가 소유하고 있는 2곳의 단독주택과 1곳의 무허가 주택에서 불법 영업을 적발했다.

시는 공중위생관리법 근거로 A씨를 이달 중 형사고발 예정이며, 고발 후에도 사고나 피해가 발생하지 않도록 이행강제금 부과 등 행정처분을 병행하여 영업 중단을 유도한다는 방침이다.

특히 무허가 건축물에 대해서는 행정처분과 함께 건축물 양성화를 유도하는 등 사후관리를 철저히 해 나갈 계획이다.

최기순 예방관리과장은 “미신고 불법 숙박업소는 안전설비를 갖추지 있지 않은 경우가 많아 사고 발생으로 이어질 수 있는 만큼 단속을 강화하겠다”고 전했다.
