[김준호 기자=동해시] 동해시는 모기 등 해충 매개 감염병 예방을 위해 모기유충 구제 약품을 오는 31일까지 무료 배부한다고 밝혔다.

 알약형태의 모기유충 구제 약품을 가정 내 화장실 변기에 투여하면 정화조로 유입되어 모기유충을 없앨 수 있다.

이에따라, 시는 말라리아, 일본뇌염 등 모기로 인해 전파되는 감염병을 사전 차단하기 위해 정화조가 설치된 단독주택 거주자를 대상으로 유충구제 약품을 무료로 배부할 예정이다.

희망하는 시민은 주소지 행정복지센터를 방문하면 무료로 제공받을 수 있다.

최기순 예방관리과장은 “봄철 모기방제가 한해 성패를 좌우하는 만큼 개인 주택 정화조 설치 주민분들은 자발적으로 소독에 동참해 주시길 당부드린다”고 말했다.
