[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 경기도가 터널 내 화재 발생 시 이용자의 피해를 최소화하기 위해 도로터널의 위험도를 평가하고 피난대피 설비 등 방재시설 설치를 추진한다고 8일 밝혔다.

경기도는 5월부터 11월까지 경기도가 관리 중인 최대 피난 거리가 250m를 초과하는 연장 4등급(총연장 500m 미만) 터널 17개를 대상으로 정량적 위험도 평가를 실시한다.

이번 평가는 국토교통부의 ‘도로터널 방재‧환기시설 설치 및 관리지침’에 따라 현재 피난 대피 설비나 제연설비가 설치되지 않은 터널을 대상으로 화재 발생 시 위험도를 수치화해 방재시설의 필요성 여부를 판단해 체계적으로 설치하기 위해서다. 

평가 방법은 터널 내 화재 사고 상황을 가정한 화재해석, 차량정체 및 대피해석, 유해가스가 인체에 미치는 영향, 사상자 수 추정 등의 평가 기준에 따라 종합적인 위험도 수준을 정량적으로 분석하고 수치화하는 내용이다.

평가 결과에 따른 객관적인 자료를 토대로 현재 대피시설이 미흡한 대상 터널을 선별해 신속하게 방재시설(피난 대피 설비, 제연설비) 보강사업을 시행할 수 있도록 조치할 예정이다.
