[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 경기도는 사업비 부족 등의 이유로 2011년 이후 정체됐던 지방도 387호선 남양주 ‘화도~운수’ 4차로 확장 공사를 오는 26일 착공한다고 밝혔다. 

지방도 387호선 ‘화도~운수’ 구간은 총사업비 1천687억 원을 투입해 남양주시 화도읍 가곡리(너구내고개)에서 수동면 운수리(운수교차로)까지 4.52㎞를 기존 2차로에서 4차로로 확장하는 사업이며, 준공은 2029년 하반기다.

해당 구간은 상습 정체 구간으로 개선이 필요해 2008년부터 사업을 진행하여 2011년 최초 설계를 완료했지만 이후 사업비 부족 등의 이유로 별다른 진척을 보지 못해 2016년 타당성 재검토 등으로 사업 재추진을 결정했으나 역시 보상비 부족으로 사업이 지연됐다. 

지난해 9월 사업 현장을 방문한 김동연 경기도지사는 주민대표들과 만나 “화도~운수 도로가 경기북부에서 우선순위가 가장 높고 지역주민들이 필요로 하는 도로인 만큼 관심을 두겠다”라며 “사업비를 확보해 내년 상반기에 착공할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”라고 약속한 바 있다.

이후 경기도는 2022년 11월 조달청에 토목공사 계약을 의뢰하는 등 사업이 급물살을 타게 됐다. 

김교흥 경기도건설본부장은 “공사가 완료되면 주민 숙원사업의 해소로 지역 교통 여건 해소와 경기북부 균형발전이 기대된다”라며 “평일 출퇴근이나 주말 나들이 통행의 상습 정체 현상과 교통난 개선에 많은 도움이 될 것”이라고 말했다.
