[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 포천시는 지난 8일자로 업무상 취득한 내부 정보를 이용해 전철 역사 부근에 부동산 투기를 한 혐의로 구속 중인 포천시청 공무원 박 모씨를 파면 조치했다고 밝혔다.
또한, 이 사건과 관련해 포천시 공무원인 부인 이 모 팀장은 견책 처분을 받았다.
박 모씨는 지난 4월 7일 항소심에서 1심과 같은 형량인 징역 3년형에 부동산 몰수 명령을 선고받았고, 현재 대법원에 항고한 상태로 최종 판결을 기다리는 중이다.
포천시 관계자는 "박 모씨가 대법원에 항고해 아직 최종 판결은 남아 있지만, 공무원에 대한 징계는 통상 고등법원의 항소심 결과에 따라 내릴 수 있다. 상급 기관인 경기도로부터 이 사건을 빨리 마무리하라는 공문을 받았다"고 전했다.
앞서 박 모씨는 지난 2020년 9월 포천시청 공무원으로서 업무상 취득한 정보를 이용해 전철역 예정지 인근 땅을 배우자와 공동명의로 사들인 혐의로 1심에서 징역 3년의 실형과 부동산 몰수가 선고됐고, 현재 복역 중이다.
경기도청은 박 모씨에 대한 대법원의 최종 결과는 아직 나오지 않았지만, 포천시에 공문을 보내 박 모 씨에 대한 조치를 빠른 시일 내에 취하도록 했고, 포천시는 이를 받아들여 박 모 씨를 파면 조치했다.

Previously, in September 2020, Park Mo was sentenced to three years in prison and confiscation of real estate in the first trial for using information obtained from work as a public official at Pocheon City Hall to purchase land near the planned subway station in a joint name with his spouse.
Although the final result of the Supreme Court on Mr. Park has not yet been released, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office sent an official letter to the city of Pocheon to take action against Mr. Park as soon as possible.
