1년이 넘도록 계속된 코로나19 사태로 피해가 심각했던 소상공인들을 위해 지난 2월 1일 안병용 의정부시장은 “코로나19 행정명령으로 피해를 입은 소상공인을 위해 재난지원금을 지급하여 지역 상권은 물론 골목상권까지 소비 촉진을 유도하도록 하겠다”라는 계획을 밝히고 지난 2~3월 의정부시 재난지원금을 지급하여 소상공인에게 재정적으로 실질적인 도움을 주었다고 했다.
