[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시는 7월 20일, 과태료 등 세외수입 100만 원 이상 체납자가 소유한 부동산에 대한 압류를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

시는 압류에 앞서 지난 6월 전국토지정보시스템 조회 결과 부동산 등 재산이 있는 것으로 파악된 100만 원 이상 세외수입 체납자 115명을 대상으로 압류예고서를 발송해 자진 납부 기회를 제공했다.

이번 부동산 압류 대상자는 납부 기한 경과 후 과태료 독촉 고지에도 납부하지 않은 세외수입 100만 원 이상 체납자 86명으로 이들의 세외수입 체납금액은 총 6억 1,512만 원에 이른다.

시는 부동산 압류 이후에도 납부 의사를 보이지 않는 고질적 체납자를 대상으로 부동산 공매 의뢰, 금융재산 압류, 고액체납자 명단 공개 등 강력한 체납처분을 추가로 진행할 방침이다. 

또한 납부 의사가 있으나 여력이 부족한 체납자에게는 상담을 통해 분납 등 납부 편의방안을 제공한다.

서명학 징수과장은 “세외수입은 시 재정에 없어서는 안 될 중요한 수입원으로 강력한 체납처분을 실시해 공평하고 건전한 납세환경을 조성하겠다”며 “지속적인 홍보와 안내를 병행해 의도치 않은 체납으로 불편을 겪는 시민이 발생하지 않도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
