[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 18일 북부지방산림청은 '제9기 국유림경영·관리자문위원회'를 출범하고 위촉식을 가졌다고 밝혔다.

북부지방산림청의 국유림경영·관리자문위원회는 '국유림의 경영 및 관리에 관한 법률'에 따라 지난 2006년 발족했으며 산림경영, 산림보호, 산림병해충, 산림복지 등 다양한 분야에 있어 최근 5년간 총 17건의 안건을 상정해 정책 수립 및 국유림 경영·관리의 투명성과 효율성 제고에 이바지해왔다.

학계, 산업 및 산림행정 등 각계 전문가 10명으로 새롭게 출범한 '제9기 국유림경영·관리자문위원회' 의 자문위원 임기는 2년이다. 위원회는 반기별로 자문위원회를 정기 개최하고 필요에 따라 수시로도 운영할 예정이다.

위원회는 “앞으로 북부지방산림청의 주요업무와 상정안건, 산림정책에 대한 이해와 공감대를 형성하고 북부지방산림청의 사업추진에 대해 다양한 의견과 아이디어를 제시하겠다.”고 다짐했다.

임하수 북부지방산림청장은 “다양한 분야의 전문가 의견을 통해 산림행정 발전에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”며, “새로 출범한 자문위원회를 더욱 내실있게 운영해 전문적이고 현장의 다양한 수요에 부합하는 국유림 경영을 실현해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.
