보건소에 따르면, 올해 여름은 이른 더위로 인한 기온·습도 상승에 따라 온열질환자 증가 우려, 거리두기 해제로 인한 야외활동 증가 등으로 장티푸스, A형간염, 세균성 이질 등 수인성·식품매개 질환과 모기 및 진드기 등으로 인한 말라리아, 일본뇌염, 쯔쯔가무시증 등 매개체로 인한 감염병이 증가할 우려가 있다고 했다. 

진드기, 모기 등 위생 해충을 사전 방제하기 위해 산책로, 공원 등 사람이 밀집해 있는 장소나 취약지역에 해충기피제 자동분사기 7대, 친환경 해충유인 퇴치기(포충기) 153대를 설치 운영하고 있다.

관내 병·의원, 학교, 사회복지시설 등 44개소에 질병정보 모니터 요원을 지정 운영하고 온열질환 응급실 감시체계 구축 등 24시간 비상연락망 체계를 구축하여 감염병 발생 시 신속한 대응 조치로 지역사회 전파 확산을 조기에 차단할 방침이라고 했다.
