[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 횡성군은 코로나19 재유행 대비 방역 대응을 위해 8월부터 일요일도 선별진료소(PCR검사)를 추가 운영한다고 밝혔다. 

군은 지난 6~7월 확진자 수 감소세에 따라 일요일 잠정 중단했던 선별진료소를 쉬는 날 없이 상시 운영하기로 했다. 평일은 오전 9시부터 오후 5시까지 기존과 동일하게 운영하며, 오전 11시 30분부터 오후 1시까지는 소독 및 중식시간이다. 주말 및 공휴일은 오전 9시부터 12시까지 운영한다.

횡성군 확진자 수는 지난 6월 총 134명에서 7월 총 1,021명으로 7배 이상 증가하였으며 1주일 단위로 급증하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 횡성군 코로나19 통계자료에 따르면 7월 중 첫째주 일평균 17명, 마지막주 일평균 62명으로 확진자가 발생하였으며 이런 추세는 당분간 지속될 것으로 예측하고 있다.

군은 당초 예상보다 조기에 코로나19 재유행이 시작되었으며 무엇보다 군민의 자율적인 참여에 기반한 개인 방역이 지속 유지될 수 있도록 군민과의 소통에 더욱 적극적으로 노력한다는 방침이다. 또한, 고위험군의 중증·사망 예방을 위해 50대·기저질환자(18세 이상) 및 장애인 시설 입원·입소자 등은 4차접종에 적극 참여해 줄 것을 독려하고 있다.   

김영대 보건소장은 “하루빨리 일상 회복을 앞당기고 위중증사망 등 건강 피해를 최소화하기 위해서는 군민 개개인의 방역 수칙 준수 및 자발적 거리두기 실천이 무엇보다 중요하다. 마스크 착용, 비누로 손 씻기, 잦은 환기와 소독 등을 철저히 지켜주실 것을 당부한다.”고 말했다.
