[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시 중앙동 새마을협의회는 지난 11일 말라리아 감염 예방을 위한 총괄적 방역 활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

최근 기록적인 폭우로 깊은 웅덩이에 감염병의 주범인 매개모기 발생 가능성이 커짐에 따라 중앙동 새마을협의회 회원들은 폭염에도 구슬땀을 흘리며 주 1회 이상 정기적 방역을 통해 총력을 기울이고 있다. 

차유철 중앙동 새마을협의회장은 “중앙동은 노후하거나 방치된 주택이 곳곳에 있어 항상 관심을 갖고 방역에 힘쓰려고 한다. 앞으로도 최선을 다해서 일선에 앞장서서 봉사하겠다”고 밝혔다.
