[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시보건소는 최근 집중호우 이후 습한 날씨로 모기 등 각종 해충 활동이 왕성해짐에 따라 방역 취약지역을 대상으로 집중 방역을 오는 10월 말까지 실시한다고 밝혔다.

매년 민원 발생의 원인이 되고 있는 하루살이, 깔따구와 최근 사랑 벌레의 출몰 등이 상가 밀집 지역에 끊임없이 출현하여 비위생적이고 혐오감을 주는 등 불편을 초래하고 있다.

시에서는 하수구, 웅덩이, 공동주택 지하구 등에 유충구제와 함께 서식지 제거작업을 실시하고 있으며 주로 모기 등 해충이 활동하는 수풀 등 취약지역에 연막·연무 소독을 주5회 집중적으로 실시하는 등 해충 구제를 위해 전력을 다하고 있다.

또한, 시민들이 자주 찾는 공원 등에 친환경 해충 퇴치 포충기를 총 153대 설치해 방역소독의 효율성을 높이고 있으며, 각 동에서도 주1회 집중방역의 날을 정하여 취약지역을 중심으로 방역을 실시하고 있다.

보건소 관계자는 “모기 등 해충으로 인한 감염병 예방을 위해 하절기에 집중 방역을 실시할 것”이라며, “시민들도 모기가 발생할 수 있는 집 주변 웅덩이를 제거하고 생활쓰레기를 깨끗하게 처리해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
