[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시 보건소는 모기, 파리 등 위생해충의 감소를 통한 감염병 예방 및 시민 건강 활동 도모를 위해 하천변 및 공원에 위생해충살충기 350대를 설치·운영하고 있다고 밝혔다.

위생해충살충기는 관내 하천변 및 공원의 가로등에 설치되어 있으며 화학약품을 사용하지 않고 LED램프에 의한 빛의 파장을 이용해 위생 해충을 유인·포획하고 퇴치하는 친환경적 장비라고 했다.

시는 오는 4월 11일부터 관내 설치되어 있는 위생해충살충기 점등 여부를 점검해 교체가 필요한 노후 장비 파악 후 유지보수할 예정이며, 올해 10월 말까지 운영할 계획이고, 이와 더불어 보건소는 코로나19 대응을 위한 확진자 동선 소독 및 방역 취약지를 중심으로 지리 및 주거 성향을 고려한 맞춤형 방역·소독도 진행하고 있다고 전했다.

장연국 의정부시보건소장은 “하천변 및 공원 등 많은 시민들이 이용하는 장소에 위생해충살충기를 운영해 해충으로 인한 주민 불편이 감소하도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
