[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 10일 의정부시는 황범순 의정부 부시장 주재로 2월 동장 정례회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

거리두기 강화조치의 연장 시행으로 인해 비대면 온라인으로 진행된 이 날 회의는 안병용 시장과 황범순 부시장을 비롯한 관내 동장이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다고 했다.

이날 회의는 도로교통, 안전, 환경 등 다양한 주민불편 건의 사항뿐만 아니라 그동안 각 동에서 추진해 온 현안 사항까지 다수 논의됐는데, 특히 흥선동, 의정부1동, 가능동, 녹양동, 호원2동, 장암동에서는 관내의 훼손된 도로시설물, 운동기구 등의 정비요청과, 호원1동, 신곡1동, 송산 1, 2, 3동, 자금동에서 도로차선 확장, 입학축하금 신청 방법, 교차로 양방향 반사경 설치, 버류정류소 내 조명시설 설치 안건을 상정하여 주민불편사항을 개선하고자 심도 있게 논의했다고 전했다.

안병용 의정부시장은 “동장회의를 통해 주민의 불편사항을 동장님들이 신속하게 대응하고 해결해주어 시민의 삶의 질이 많이 향상되었다. 동장님들의 노력에 감사드리고 현재 코로나19 확산세가 지속하고 있어, 시민의 작은 불편한 사항에도 관심을 갖고 해결할 수 있도록 노력해달라”고 당부했다.

회의를 주재한 황범순 의정부시 부시장은 “행정의 최일선에 계시는 동장님들께서 시의 각종 현안사업에 대해서도 완벽히 숙지해 시민들의 궁금증을 직접 해결해주실 수 있도록 나서 주시고, 코로나19 확산과 선거 준비에 여념이 없는 바쁜 와중에 주민의 작은 불편사항까지도 개선하기 위해 세심하게 신경써주시는 동장님들께 감사드린다”고 격려했다.
