[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시는 오는 12월 30일까지 주민등록 사실조사를 실시한다고 밝혔다.

전국적으로 추진하는 이번 조사는 주민등록사항과 실제 거주사실을 확인해 주민등록의 정확성을 제고하기 위해 실시하며, 조사는 읍면동 담당 공무원 및 이·통장이 조사 대상자의 거주지방문 또는 전화로 진행된다.

거주지 변동 후 미신고자, 취약계층의 주민등록지 실거주 여부, 사망 의심자의 생존 여부, 교육기관에서 요청한 장기 결석 및 학령기 미취학 아동 등의 중점 조사 대상이다.

특히, 이번 조사부터 비대면 디지털 조사 방식이 새롭게 도입되며, 오는 23일까지 조사 대상자가 주민등록지에서 정부24(모바일)에 접속해 사실조사 사항을 응답하면 된다.

다만, 비대면 디지털 조사방식에 참여했더라도 유선 조사를 보조적으로 진행하며, 잘못 신고된 주민등록 사항은 12월 23일 이전에 거주지 읍면동 행정복지센터에 자진 신고하면 「주민등록법」에 따라 부과되는 과태료의 최대 80%까지 감면받을 수 있다.

원주시 관계자는 “사실 조사원이 세대에 방문하거나 전화를 걸었을 때 주민들의 적극적인 관심과 협조를 부탁드린다”라고 말했다.
