[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 3일 동두천시 지역사회보장협의체는 두드림희망센터 대회의실에서 동 지역사회보장협의체 민간위원장 및 관계자 10명이 참석한 가운데 ‘지역특별분과’ 회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

지역특별분과는 8개동 협의체 민간위원장으로 구성된 분과로 동별 운영현황을 공유하고 동 협의체 활성화 방안에 대한 실무 논의를 위해 정례회의를 실시하고 있다고 했다.

이날 회의는 2022년도 동 협의체 지원사업 계획을 토대로 올해 중점적으로 추진할 사업에 대한 논의와 코로나 19로 인해 어려움에 처한 복지사각지대를 적극 발굴하기 위한 방안에 대해 심도 있게 논의했으며, 특히 작년 12월 새롭게 출범한 제4기 동 협의체 활성화를 통해 지역사회의 다양한 복지 문제를 해결하기 위한 구심체로서의 역할을 다할 것을 다짐했고, 대표협의체 위원으로 활동하게 될 지역특별분과장에는 생연1동협의체 김응규위원장이 선출됐다고 전했다.

한편 동 협의체는 동 단위로 생활이 어려운 이웃을 발굴하고 보살피는 민관협력 네트워크 조직으로, 복지사각지대 및 자원 발굴을 통한 지역사회 돌봄체계 구축을 위해 140여명의 위원이 활동하고 있다고 밝혔다.
