[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군은 경기도에서 주관하는 ‘2023년 경기생태마당 조성사업’에 총 사업비 22억원을 신청하여 ‘가평군 보납산-늪산 생태통로 연결사업’이 최종 사업대상으로 선정되었다고 밝혔다.

이 사업은 경기도 보조 사업으로 자연환경 훼손(개발사업) 과정에서 조성된 생태계보전부담금을 단절된 생태축 복원, 생물서식지 조성 등 생태계 보전·복원사업에 사용하여 생태계의 연결성 향상 및 건전성을 증진하기 위한 사업이며, 지난 2월 사전 수요조사를 실시했다.

그 결과, 경기도 시·군(31개 시·군) 중 총 3개 시·군의 사업이 선정되었으며 수원시, 안산시와 함께 가평군 '보납산-늪산 생태통로 연결사업'이 선정되었고 가평군은 도비 15억 4천만원을 확보하였으며 확보한 예산은 내년도 군 예산에 반영되어 사업이 추진될 예정이다.

보납산 및 늪산은 다양한 야생동물의 서식지로, 군 중심축과 녹지축을 잇는 중요한 생태축이며, 도로 개설로 단절된 생태적 연결성을 생태통로를 개설하여 다시 구축함으로써 생태계연속성을 유지시키고 이로 인해 야생동물의 종의 다양성을 높이며 또한 주민들에게 생태계에 대한 교육적, 심미적인 가치를 제공할 수 있다.
