[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 지난 23일 북부지방산림청은 춘천시 동면 품걸리 일대 춘천국유림관리소 열식간벌 사업 예정지에서 산림청, 북부청, 전문가 등 42명이 참석하는 산림순환경영 현장토론회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

춘천국유림관리소에서 개최하는 이번 현장토론회는 북부청에서 실시하는 첫 번째 산림순환경영 현장토론회로, 올해 춘천국유림관리소에서 추진하는 열식간벌 사업 대상지에 대한 선정 적정성 검토 및 간벌열 설정, 작업로 개설 생산재 수집 방법 등에 대한 전문가와 참석자의 자유토론으로 진행됐다.

열식간벌이란 단목으로 제거목을 선정해 벌목하던 기존 방식을 전환하여 벌채열(간격) 기준으로 제거목을 선정·벌목하는 사업방식으로, 사업 비용 절감 효과와 더불어 벌목 산물 수집 효율 및 안전사고 예방 효과를 높여 효율적인 산림사업 시스템을 마련하고자 지난 2021년부터 시범사업으로 추진하고 있다.

한편, 올해 북부지방산림청 소속 6개 국유림관리소에서는 다양한 주제로 산림현장 실무능력 강화를 위한 현장토론회를 개최할 예정이다.

임하수 북부지방산림청장은 “이번 현장토론회를 통해 사업 추진 전 다양한 의견 공유로 사업 추진 시 문제점 도출과 개선점 파악에 도움이 될 것이라 기대한다.”며, “또한, 앞으로도 관리소별 현장토론회를 실시하여 산림현장 노하우 등 지식을 자유롭게 공유하며, 사업 품질 향상 및 직원 역량을 강화할 수 있는 자리를 지속적으로 마련할 예정이다”라고 말했다.
