이날 환경정화 활동은 설 명절을 맞이해 쾌적하고 청결한 거리를 만들기 위해 실시하게 됐으며, 회원들은 도로와 인도 등에 버려진 담배꽁초 및 각종 쓰레기들을 꼼꼼히 수거하며 지역사랑을 실천했다고 했다.

차유철 회장은 “깨끗한 거리를 보니 한결 마음이 가볍다. 앞으로 이런 봉사하는 기회를 더 자주 갖도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.   

이춘우 중앙동장은 “일요일 이른 아침부터 봉사활동에 참여해 주신 회원분들에게 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 앞으로도 중앙동의 밝고 깨끗한 거리 조성을 위해 노력하겠다” 고 전했다.
