[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 23일 양주시는 양주시품목연구연합회에서 코로나19 확산으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 이웃과 온정을 나누기 위해 성금 200만원을 기부했다고 밝혔다. 

양주시품목연구연합회는 매년 연말마다 어려운 이웃을 위해 성금 기부로 이웃사랑을 실천하며 지역사회의 나눔 문화 확산에 기여하고 있다고 했다.

박순용 회장은 “코로나19 확산으로 농촌 일손 부족으로 농업인들도 어려움이 많았지만, 더욱 힘든 생활을 하는 이웃과 온정을 나누고자 기부하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 농촌지역 내 소외된 이웃을 위해 관심을 갖고 책임을 다하도록 하겠다”고 전했다.

김종석 부시장은 “연말을 맞아 이웃사랑을 위한 성금을 기부해 준 연합회 전 회원에게 감사하다”며 “복지사각지대 놓인 취약계층을 적극 발굴해 수요자 맞춤형 지원서비스를 제공하도록 더욱 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
