[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 11일 김동근 의정부시장은 김성남 대표위원장과 14개 동 위원장 등이 참석한 동 지역사회보장협의체 위원장 간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

김 시장은 간담회를 통해 2년간 활동을 이끌어온 위원장들의 노고를 격려하고 앞으로 나아갈 방향에 대해 논의하는 시간을 가졌다.

제4기 동 지역사회보장협의체는 지난  2020년 9월부터 2022년 8월까지 활동하며 동 단위로 지역주민들을 위한 다양한 복지사업을 추진해왔으며 복지 대상자 700여 가구를 발굴하고 2,600건의 복지 서비스를 연계해 지역사회 돌봄체계 강화에 기여했다.

김성남 대표위원장은 “위원장님들과 의정부시의 도움으로 더욱 활발히 동 지역사회보장협의체 활동을 할 수 있었고, 취임 후 빠르게 간담회 자리를 마련해주셔서 감사하다”고 참석 소감을 밝혔다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “지역사회복지 발전을 위한 지난 2년간의 활동에 감사드리고 앞으로도 주민의 복지체감도 향상을 위해 동 지역사회보장협의체 활동 지원에 노력하는 의정부시가 되겠다”고 말했다.
