[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 경기도는 오는 29일 경기도청 북부청사에서 환경 분야 전공 대학생의 취업역량 강화를 위해 추진 중인 ‘환경미래인재 취업역량강화 사업-미래직장체험 프로그램’의 발전 방향을 모색해보는 간담회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

‘미래직장체험 프로그램’은 환경 분야 전공 대학생들이 실제 환경산업 현장 근무를 체험하며 자기 적성을 확인해보고 관련 실무 역량을 키울 수 있도록 돕는 데 목적을 둔 사업으로 지난 2016년부터 지금까지 282명이 참여하여 관련 업체에 61명이 취업할 수 있도록 도움을 주었다.

올해는 50명 내외의 환경 분야 전공 대학생을 대상으로 교육부 ‘대학생 현장실습 학기제 규정’에 따라 방학 중(7월) 1회, 학기 중(9~12월) 1회 총 2회로 나눠 사업을 운영 중이며 학생들의 업무 선호에 우선순위를 두고 환경산업 연수기관(기업체)과 연수생(대학생)을 연결함으로써 만족도 향상 등 사업 효과를 극대화하는 데 주력하고 있다.

특히 각 대학에서는 실습 기관과 업무 연락 및 점검 등을 주기적으로 시행해 학점인정을 해줌으로써 연수생이 학업과 취업 연계 병행에 부담을 덜어낼 수 있도록 도울 방침이며 이번 간담회에서는 대학생, 연수기관(업체), 대학 기관 등 프로그램 참여 관계자들이 참석한 가운데, 더 나은 직장체험의 장을 만들 방안을 중점적으로 논의하는 시간을 가질 전망이고 아울러 자유로운 분위기에서 학생들이 느끼는 프로그램 운영상 미흡점과 보완·발전사항, 연수기관과 대학에서 생각하는 행정절차 상 애로사항 등에 대해 의견을 교류하며 개선 방향을 도출하는 자리를 만들 방침이다.

한편, 경기도는 오는 10~11월 중 도내 특성화고교, 대학교를 방문해 환경 분야 기업 현황, 정책 방향, 면접 노하우 등의 정보를 제공하는 ‘취업특강’을 개최할 예정이다.

박종일 경기도 북부환경관리과장은 “최근 전 세계적으로 환경·사회·투명경영(ESG), RE100 등이 대두되며 환경산업 역시 급변하는 만큼, 이번 간담회를 통해 엠지(MZ) 세대의 목소리를 듣고 시대 변화에 맞는 사업 발전을 모색하는 데 힘쓸 것”이라고 말했다.
