[남상훈 기자 = 포천시] 지난 7일 백영현 포천시장은 제13회 포천시 홀스타인 품평회 시상식을 개최하고 수상자와의 간담회를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

올해 행사는 코로나19로 인해 비대면으로 진행했으며 1부부터 7부까지 16개 농가에서 35두가 출전했다. 한국종축개량협회 주관으로 철저한 심사를 진행해 수상자를 결정했으며 심사결과 신세근 농가 4부 최우수, 김의순 농가 6부 우수, 김도성 농가가 6부 최우수를 수상했으며, 박매훈 농가가 준 그랜드 챔피언, 이재홍 농가가 그랜드 챔피언을 거머쥐었다. 

그랜드 챔피언을 수상한 이재홍 씨는 "종축개량을 꾸준히 해온 목장으로 앞으로도 우수하고 건강한 젖소를 키우기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다"고 말했다.

시상식 후 진행된 간담회에서 백영현 포천시장은 “우리 시의 기반은 농축산업이라고 할 수 있다. 낙농가의 어려운 현실을 외면하지 않고 함께 극복할 수 있도록 협조하고 노력하겠다. 내년 홀스타인 품평회는 시민과 함께하는 축제가 될 수 있도록 추진하겠다.”고 약속했다.
