[김현우 기자 = 춘천] 지난 11월 30일 춘천시청에서 한기호 국회의원(춘천,철원,화천,양구을)과 육동한 춘천시장이 지역현안 해결방안을 논의하기 위해 만남을 가졌다.

이날 간담회는 한기호 의원과 육동한 시장뿐만 아니라 박찬흥, 양숙희 강원도의원과 박제철, 김용갑, 남숙희, 지승민 춘천시의원도 참석했다.

이번 간담회에서는 서면대교 건설 사업, 용산대교 건설 사업, 북부공공도서관 건립사업, 등 지역사회 사업 등 지역현안을 해결하기 위한 사업들을 논의했으며, 신동 옥산포부터 신동 삼거리 구간의 2차로를 6차로 확장하는 등 지역주민 숙원 사업 해결을 위해 머리를 맞댔다.

해당 도로 확장 구간은 신동 옥산포부터 신동 삼거리 950m 구간이며, 현재 폭 20m, 2차선으로 굴곡이 심한 병목 현상 발생 구간이다.

예전에도 신사우동 주민들이 도로 확장 민원을 넣었지만 해당 구간에 군부대 용지가 포함돼 있어 도로 확장의 어려움이 있었다.

이후, 육동한 시장이 한기호 의원에게 해당 내용을 전하면서 도움을 요청했고 한기호 의원이 국방부와 협의를 통해 방안을 찾았다. 이에, 춘천시는 국방부와의 추가 협의 등을 거쳐 해당 구간을 폭 35m, 6차선으로 확장할 계획이다.

한기호 의원은 “해당 도로 일부가 국방부 소유의 군부대 용지로 되어 있어 도로 확장이 어려웠으나 최근 국방부와 협의를 통해 군부대 용지 사용을 허가했다. 시에서 도로를 확장해 오랫동안 이어져온 지역 주민들의 불편을 해소할 수 있게 됐다.”고 말했다.

또한, 육동한 시장이 건의한 서면대교 등 지역 현안의 국비 사업 추진에 대해서는 “지역발전을 위해 함께 적극 협력하자”고 덧붙였다.

육동한 춘천시장은 “의원님께서 지역의 현안에 대해 많은 관심을 가져주시고 애써주셔서 감사하다”고 답했다.

한편, 이번 간담회는 한기호 의원실에서 먼저 제안했으며, 둘의 인연은 과거 육동한 시장이 정부 부처 재직 시절부터 서로 친분을 쌓아온 것으로 전해졌다.
