[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 7일 백영현 포천시장이 포천시 거주 장애인, 어르신 등 철도관광 경험이 없는 취약계층 30여 명을 대상으로 '내 생애 첫 기차여행'사업을 추진했다고 밝혔다.

‘내 생애 첫 기차여행’은 지리적인 한계 등으로 철도 접근성이 낮은 포천시 거주 장애인 및 노인분들께 기차여행이라는 특별한 추억을 만들 수 있는 기회를 제공는 사업이다.

지난 6월 코레일관광개발(주)과 관광취약계층에 철도관광을 지원하는 업무협약을 체결해 관광지 역시 참여자분들의 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 관광지로 정해졌다. 코레일관광개발(주)는 철도관광상품을 지원하고 포천시는 행정적인 부분을 지원했다. 또한 포천시장애인가족지원센터는 사업홍보 및 참여자 모집 등의 역할을 수행하며 참여자분들이 불편함 없이 기차여행을 즐길 수 있도록 세심한 노력을 기울였다.

‘내 생애 첫 기차여행’으로 참가자들은 KTX와 무궁화호를 통해 충북 제천의 무장애 관광지인 청풍문화재단지 및 옥순봉 출렁다리를 관광했다.
