[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 지난 16일 시정회의실에서 ‘포천시 지능형교통체계(ITS) 기본계획 수립 용역’ 착수보고회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 보고회에는 백영현 포천시장을 비롯해 손세화 포천시의회의원, 경기도 교통정보과, 포천경찰서, 포천소방서 및 관계 공무원 등 15명이 참석했다.

주요 내용은 교통현황 및 관련계획 조사·분석, 교통체계의 문제점 파악 및 해결방안 제시, 기술동향 분석, 지능형교통체계(ITS) 구축의 기본방향 및 추진전략 수립, 단계별 추진계획 및 관리 운영계획, 단계별 소요예산 및 재원조달 방안 수립 등이다.

포천시는 지능형교통체계(ITS) 기본계획 수립 후 2024년부터 본격적으로 구축사업에 돌입해 상습정체 해소를 위한 신호온라인 구축 및 신호체계 개선, 보행자 안전을 위한 스마트 횡단보도 설치, 실시간 정보제공을 위한 도로전광표지(VMS) 설치, 버스정보안내를 위한 단말기(BIT) 확대 설치, 골든타임 확보를 위한 긴급차량 우선신호 등 다양한 첨단교통 시스템을 구축할 계획이다.

백영현 포천시장은 “유관기관과 지속적으로 상호 협력하여 포천시 실정에 맞는 체계적이고 지속가능한 지능형교통체계(ITS) 시스템을 구축해 어린이, 노약자를 포함한 교통약자의 교통여건 향상 및 통행속도 개선을 위한 교통인프라 구축에 기여할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
