[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 스마트 마을방송 시스템 구축이 완료되어 지난 26일부터 약 한 달간 군내면 시범운영을 시행한다고 밝혔다.

지난 23일 군내면 이장협의회에서 스마트 마을방송 시스템 운영을 위한 최종설명회 및 시연을 마치고, 우선 등록된 1,001세대에 시범운영을 시작한다.

스마트 마을방송은 기존 무선 마을방송 장비의 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 고효율·저비용 시스템으로 언제 어디서나 시간과 장소 제한 없이 행정정보를 제공해 주민 편의를 도모하고, 예산과 사업비 절감에도 큰 역할을 할 것으로 기대되고 있다.

현재 포천시는 총 7만 3,746세대 중 마을방송 미설치 세대가 약 4만 4,000세대이며, 설치된 무선수신기 장비도 노후되고 잦은 고장으로 교체 요구가 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 

스마트 마을방송은 무선수신기가 필요 없고, 기존 장비와 연동해 추가적인 장비 구입 없이 시스템 사용이 가능하다는 장점이 있다.

포천시는 군내면 시범운영 이후 설문조사를 통해 문제점 및 건의 사항을 반영해 8월부터 미설치 읍면동 전 지역으로 확대·운영할 계획이다.

김진희 정보통신과장은 “지역 내 유무선 네트워크 및 인터넷 기술을 유선전화와 휴대전화 등 연동을 통해 주민에게 필요한 다양한 정보와 서비스를 제공하여 지역주민들의 삶의 질을 높이는 데 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
