[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 지난 16일 시청 시정회의실에서 2023년 2분기 소비자정책심의위원회를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

심의 안건은 ‘상수도 요금 현실화를 위한 요금 인상 및 가정용 누진제 폐지(안)’ 등 6건으로, 각 안건의 요금 징수의 적정성에 대해 다른 지방자치단체의 운영 사례를 비교·검토하여 심도있는 논의와 의견 수렴이 이뤄졌다.

포천시 소비자정책심의위원회는 시 관여요금 및 사용료·수수료와 소비자보호 및 물가안정 시책 등에 필요한 사항을 자문·심의·조정하는 기구로, 경제 및 소비자 관련 분야의 경험이 풍부한 전문가와 공무원 등 13명으로 구성되어 있다.

이날 회의에서 위원장인 백영현 포천시장은 “소비자 물가지수가 전년동월 대비 3.7% 상승했다. 

하반기 안정화가 예상되지만 글로벌 경기 둔화와 원자재 가격 상승, 개인서비스 가격 인상 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 가계의 경제적 부담을 줄이고, 소비생활이 안정될 수 있도록 해야 한다”고 심의 위원회의 역할을 강조했다.
