[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 14일, 동두천시는 '2022년 동두천시 아동복지심의위원회'를 개최하고, 22년도 아동정책 시행 계획을 심의·의결했다고 밝혔다.

이날 위원회에서는 아동 관련 전문가, 전문 지식인 등으로 구성된 신규 및 재위촉 위원 5명에게 위촉장을 수여하였으며, 2022년 아동정책 시행 계획에 대한 심의 및 드림스타트 사업 운영 계획의 행정·재정적 지원방안 등을 보고하였고, 동두천시 아동복지심의위원회는 아동복지법 제12조에 따라 아동의 복지증진을 위한 아동복지정책 시행 및 보호대상아동의 보호결정·변경·종결 등에 관한 서비스 사항을 심의하기 위해 설치되었다고 전했다.

2022년 아동정책 시행계획은 경기도 제1차 아동정책 기본계획(2021~2025)의 정책 기조와 기본 틀을 바탕으로 하여 4개의 추진전략과 11개 정책과제, 59개 세부사업으로 구성되어 있으며, ‘아이들이 행복한 동두천’이란 비전 아래 아동의 꿈과 미래가 실현되는 환경 조성을 위해 다양한 사업을 추진하게 된다고 했다.

시 관계자는 “유엔아동권리협약에 의하여 아동은 단순 보호대상이 아닌 존엄성과 권리를 지닌 주체”라며, “아동의 인간다운 삶을 보장하고, 건강하고 행복한 어른으로 성장할 수 있도록 정책적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
