[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 13일 현장 중심의 자연재난 대비체계를 목표로 여름철 재해위험지역에 대한 선제적 대응을 위해 시민, 전문가, 시장이 함께하는 현장점검을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 박형덕 시장은 두레청소년야영장, 샘터농원 세월교, 소요하상도로에 직접 방문하여 집중호우 후 땅밀림, 옹벽, 배수로 및 하상도로 출입통제장치 이상유무 등을 확인하고 현장의 문제점과 주민 불편사항에 대해서는 보완을 통해 주민들의 피해가 없도록 할 것을 지시했다. 

특히, 이번 점검은 시민과 함께한다는 방침에 따라 동두천시민과 전문가(토목구조기술사 등), 공무원으로 점검반을 구성하고 점검반장인 동두천시장을 필두로 현장점검을 진행하였다.

시는 올해 초 재해위험지역 61개소를 대상으로 전수점검을 실시하였고, 이번 달에 추가적으로 전수점검을 통해 현장의 문제점을 점검하였다.

박형덕 동두천시장은 “시민의 생명과 재산 보호를 위해 자연재난 상황 발생시 신속한 대응이 이뤄지도록 항상 준비하는 자세를 가져야 한다”라고 거듭 강조하면서 “여름철 풍수해 사전 예찰활동으로 재해위험요인을 신속히 정비하고 필요시 예산을 투입하여 급경사지 사고 예방에 최선을 다할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
