[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 오는 8월 4일까지 6주간 ‘2023 포천시민대상’ 후보자 추천 접수 기간을 운영한다고 28일 밝혔다.

포천시민대상은 포천시에서 가장 권위 있는 상으로, 지역사회 발전을 위해 헌신 봉사한 유공자에게 수여된다. 

문화예술, 체육, 교육학술, 지역개발, 농업, 사회봉사, 산업경제 총 7개 부문 8명을 선정해 오는 10월 제21회 포천시민의 날 기념식에서 시상할 예정이다.

자격요건은 포천에서 3년 이상 거주한 사람이거나 등록기준지가 포천시인 사람, 주소는 포천이 아니더라도 관내에 직장을 갖고 3년 이상 지역사회 발전을 위해 헌신하며 뚜렷한 공적이 있는 자를 대상으로 한다.

추천권자는 시 담당관‧과장, 사업소장, 읍면동장, 관내 유관기관장, 사회단체장, 각급 학교장 및 10명 이상의 일반시민이며, 읍면동 총무팀과 시청 자치행정과 방문을 통해 접수하면 된다.

포천시 관계자는 “포천시에 대한 남다른 애정을 가지고 지역사회 발전을 위해 헌신하고 봉사한 시민이 많이 추천되길 바란다. 포천시의 자랑이자 많은 시민의 귀감이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

한편, 지난 2009년 시작된 포천시민대상은 지난해까지 15년 동안 총 104명의 수상자를 배출했다.
