[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 20일 동두천시 생연2동 행정복지센터는 설 명절을 맞아 관내 경로당 10개소를 방문해 각 10kg씩 총 100kg의 쌀을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

김일 생연2동장과 직원들은 이날 설 명절 후원으로 기탁받은 쌀을 이웃 사랑의 뜻을 담아 어르신들께 전달하고, 경로당 이용에 대한 애로사항을 청취하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

각 경로당 회장단들은 “동정 업무로 바쁜 와중에도 경로당을 방문해 명절 인사는 물론 격려품까지 전해줘서 감사하다”고 전했다. 

생연2동 김일 동장은 “명절을 앞두고 가족처럼, 아들처럼 반겨주시니 감사하다”며 “앞으로도 어르신들을 부모님 뵙듯 만나 뵙고 불편함이 없으신지 살펴보고 또한 어르신들이 존경받고 행복한 마을공동체를 만드는 데 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
