[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 18일 동두천 경우회 자문위원회 양순종 회장은 설 명절을 맞아 관내 복지사각지대 이웃들에게 전해 달라며 백미 10kg 20포를 생연2동행정복지센터에 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

양순종 회장은 동두천시 자원봉사센터 이사와 여러 자원봉사단체장을 맡아 활동하며 수십 년째 관내 저소득 가정의 학생들에게 장학금 전달, 여름철 취약계층 어르신들께 삼계탕 대접 및 김장철 고춧가루 지원 등 다양한 방면에서 이웃사랑을 실천하여 지역사회 나눔 문화 확산에 앞장서고 있다고 했다.

양순종 회장은 “코로나19의 재확산으로 어려운 시기를 보내고 있을 복지사각지대 이웃들에게 작게나마 도움이 되길 바란다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

김일 생연2동장은 “소외된 이웃을 위해 묵묵히 봉사하는 양순종 회장님께 진심으로 감사드리며 전해주신 따뜻한 마음은 동절기 취약계층 이웃들에게 잘 전달하겠다”고 전했다

[Reporter Il-jung Kim = Northern Gyeonggi/Gangwon] On January 18th, Yang Sun-jong, chairman of the Dongducheon Case Association Advisory Committee, donated 20 bags of 10 kg of white rice to the Saengyeon 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center to deliver it to neighbors in the welfare blind spot on the occasion of the Lunar New Year holiday.

Yang Sun-jong, the director of the Dongducheon City Volunteer Center and the head of various volunteer groups, has been serving the local community by practicing love for neighbors in various ways, such as delivering scholarships to students from low-income families in the district for decades, serving samgyetang to the elderly in the summertime, and providing red pepper powder for kimchi-jangcheol. He said that he is taking the lead in spreading a culture of sharing.

Chairman Yang Sun-jong said, "I hope it will be of some help to neighbors in the blind spot of welfare who are going through difficult times due to the re-spread of Corona 19."
