[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 6일 추석 명절을 맞아 시민안전과 치안유지를 위해 봉사활동을 펼치고 있는 방범기동순찰대를 방문하여 위문품을 전달하고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

박형덕 시장은 6일 연합대본부를 시작으로 송라·올빼미·번개 3개 방범지대를 차례로 방문하여 방범대원들의 애로사항과 건의사항을 청취했으며, 이날 위문 방문에는 농협 동두천시지부도 함께했다.

박형덕 동두천시장은 “주민들의 안전을 위해 최선을 다해주시는 방범대원님들의 노고에 진심으로 감사하다”며, “앞으로도 사명감을 갖고 지역치안을 위해 노력해달라”고 말했다.

한편, 동두천시 방범기동순찰대는 범죄 없는 생활환경 조성과 선도를 위해 자발적으로 구성된 단체로 야간순찰 활동뿐만 아니라 각종 행사 질서유지 등 지역사회를 위한 봉사활동을 전개하고 있다.
