[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 19일부터 23일까지 시장 주재로‘2023년 주요업무계획 보고회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 보고회는 시장, 부시장, 담당 국·과장 등이 참석한 가운데 기획감사담당관을 시작으로 총 26개 부서의 2023년 주요 사업을 논의하고 의견을 교환하는 자리로 진행됐다.

이번 보고회는 민선8기 주요 현안 사항인 동두천시 조정대상지역 해제, 수도권광역급행철도(GTX-C노선) 동두천 연장, 동두천 국가산업단지 2단계(30만평 확대) 사업, 문화예술의 전당 건립, 청년 및 신혼부부 통합공공임대주택 건립 사업을 중심으로, 시민 삶의 질을 향상하는 양질의 일자리와 미래 성장동력의 기반이 되는 교육, 보육, 복지, 문화, 체육, 환경 등을 획기적으로 개선할 수 있는 정책 발굴에 역점을 두었다. 

보고회에서 박형덕 시장은 기존의 국도비 사업을 탈피해 시민이 빠르게 체감할 수 있는 동두천시만의 정책 발굴에 힘써 줄 것을 당부하면서, “새로운 동두천을 갈망하는 시민의 높은 열망과 기대에 부응할 수 있는 삶의 질 향상에 행정역량을 집중해 달라”고 강조했다.

또한 “육아, 보육, 교육의 품질을 높이고 어르신, 장애인, 다문화가족 등 시민 단 한 사람도 소외되지 않는 골목 구석구석 활력이 넘치는 동두천시를 위해 노력해달라”고 밝혔다.

한편, 동두천시는 이번 주요업무계획 보고회 결과를 바탕으로 내년도 추진사업을 보완·발전시켜 2023년 본예산 편성을 통해 체계적으로 실현할 방침이다.
