[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 6일 민족 최대의 명절 추석을 앞두고 서태원 가평군수는 북면 백둔로에 소재한 ‘백둔리 상신노인전문요양원’을 위문 차 방문하여 시설 종사들을 격려하고 애로사항을 청취하는 시간을 가졌다.

가평군은 이번 추석을 맞아 사회복지시설 18개소에 1,050만원의 위문금을 지원하여 복지와 나눔에 대한 지역사회의 따뜻한 관심을 유도하는 등 나눔문화 확산에 앞장서고 있으며, 이외에도 각 읍·면의 기초생활수급자 및 저소득가구 910세대에 5,500만원의 명절 위문금을 지급했다.

서태원 가평군수는 “3년간 계속되는 코로나19와 집중호우 피해 등으로 어려운 시기이지만 민족 고유의 명절 추석만큼은 풍성하고 행복한 시간이 되었으면 좋겠다.”며 “시설에 계신 어르신들이 건강하고 편안하게 생활할 수 있도록 각별한 보살핌을 당부 드리며, 관계자 여러분들의 노고에 감사드린다.”라며 어려운 환경에서 근무하고 있는 시설 종사자들의 애로사항과 의견을 청취하고 격려했다.

이에 김관중 시설장은 “추석을 맞이하여, 직접 방문해 격려해주셔서 저를 비롯한 시설 종사자들의 감사의 마음을 전한다.”며 코로나19도 빨리 종식되어 가평군민들이 행복하고 좋은 일들만 가득하기를 간절히 기원한다.”고 말했다.
