[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 6월 말 평창군은 집중호우 시 발생되는 각종 산림재해로부터 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위한 2022년 사방댐 설치사업을 완료했다고 전했다.
군은 지난 3월부터 집중호우로 피해가 예상되는 지역에 7억 5,000만 원의 사업비를 투입해 재해 예방을 위한 사방댐 3개소를 설치했으며 이번 사업은 집중호우에 의한 산림재해 예방을 목적으로 추진되는 사업인 만큼, 우기 전 완료를 목표로 추진됐고 이를 위해 사업 예정지에 대한 실시설계, 설계심의회 등을 올해 초에 마무리해 공사를 조기에 발주했다고 했다.
군은 향후 산간계곡의 침식과 산림재해 발생으로 인한 재산 및 인명피해 예방을 위해 관리중인 사방시설 유지보수 및 사방댐 준설 등 안전조치사업을 통하여 피해예방에 각별한 노력을 기울일 계획이라고 밝혔다.
이정균 경제건설국장은 “장마철 이전에 사업을 완료하는 것이 무엇보다 피해예방 차원에서 중요하며, 사방댐이 산림재해예방에 큰 역할을 하길 바란다.”고 말했다.
