[김택곤 기자=정선군] 정선군은 산사태 취약지역의 국지적 집중호우로 인한 산사태 발생 및 토석류가 하류로 내려오면서 발생하는 각종 산림재해로부터 체계적이고 능동적으로 대처하는 것은 물론 군민들의 소중한 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위해 사방댐 설치 및 준설, 안전 점검 등을 추진한다.

군은 현재까지 9개 읍·면에 107개소의 사방댐을 설치·관리하고 있으며, 올해에는 15억여원을 투입해 사방댐 설치 6개소, 준설 3개소, 안전조치 1개소, 44개소에 대한 안전 점검을 실시한다.

군은 새롭게 신설되는 6개소에 대하여는 3월까지 실시설계를 완료하고 4월 착공을 시작으로 10월까지 사업을 마무리할 계획이다.

아울러 관내에 설치·운영하고 있는 사방댐에 대하여 장마철이 시작되기 전까지 사방댐 기능 및 안정성 유지를 위한 사방댐 준설 및 안전조치, 안전 점검을 완료할 계획이다.
