[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 1월부터 양주시 회천2동은 취약계층의 안부를 확인하는 ‘우리 동네 런닝콜’ 서비스를 확대 운영하고 있다고 밝혔다.

‘우리 동네 런닝콜’ 서비스는 기초생활보장수급자, 중증장애인, 독거노인 등 취약계층 안부를 매주 확인하고 주민의 애로 사항에 대하여 즉각적인 서비스로 연계해 주는 사업이라고 했다. 

회천2동은 평소 기초생활수급자, 중증장애인 1인가구의 안부 확인에 이어 지난 12월부터 독거노인 등 동절기 한파 취약계층 570세대의 안부를 확인하고 있으며, 특히 1월부터 청장년 등 1인가구를 서비스 대상에 포함하여 복지사각지대 최소화를 위해 선제적으로 대응할 예정이라고 전했다.

가족의 건강 등 안부가 걱정돼 ‘우리동네 런닝콜’ 안부 서비스를 원하는 주민은 행정복지센터를 통해 신청할 수 있다고 했다.

홍미영 회천2동장은“현장에 답이 있다는 생각으로 관내 독거노인 등 취약가구의 안부 확인을 통해 우리 동네의 고독사 등의 사회문제를 해결할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”며“코로나19와 한파로 더욱 힘겨울 주민의 복지 사각지대 해소에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
